ARMY GUY

i put these colors down and pulled them up with a rag multiple times. it spread the colors nicely and i think it has much more of an atmospheric quality to it. it never ceases to amaze me that i'm a 33 year old man who hangs out drawing pictures of army men. will be posting another drawing shorty.

BEANO AND BERRY

this is a self portrait i did of myself and a deer that spent about a year in my parents' neighborhood. if you ever get a forwarded email talking about a deer that came to a house in harrisburg every morning to hang out with a cat, it's bullshit. that happened with my parents' neighbors, not in harrisburg.

FIRST POST 2011

thought i'd give toned paper a try. this paper is impossible to erase on, so that's why there are still some faint pencil lines.

welcome to the new blog

well, since vulomedia died on me and all my links are totally busted, i decided that it was time to start a brand new blog. a brand new beginning that oddly coincides with the ending of summer and the death of all the green that has been around us. i spent some of the day out at a lake in peter's township painting with my aunt. it was such a beautiful day and, somehow, i ended up with a pretty ominous looking piece. to counteract that, i'm including some smiling fruit that i found at the bottom of a pile of drawings stacked in my studio. and then to counteract that, i'm adding my piece for a dios de los muertos food bank benefit shot extravaganza show that i'm participating in at the end of the week. if you're in pittsburgh, come to the shadow lounge friday night between 7 pm and 11 pm. buy some art and help feed me and others who somehow have found a way to have less money than i do :)

it feels good to have a functioning blog again!
